Information about nanomaterials

NanoData

NanoData is a knowledge base that provides information on the development of nanomaterials and nanotechnology, focusing mainly on the EU market. You can find information on key areas using nanomaterials, including the health, energy, photonics, manufacturing, and information and communication technology sectors. You can also find out about products that use nanomaterials and nanotechnology, patents, and research projects funded by the EU.

Based on your interests, you can navigate the information by sector, product or organisation, as well as by research and development activity. NanoData also gives you access to the latest news in nanomaterials and nanotechnology.

eNanoMapper

The eNanoMapper database provides a computational infrastructure for the management of toxicological data for nanomaterials. Through it you can access one of the largest data sources currently available on the toxicological properties of nanomaterials.

The data in the eNanoMapper database is collected from several sources, including the EU-funded NanoREG project. The database will continue to expand as results from more research projects is added.

The eNanoMapper is funded by the EU under its research and innovation programme.

ECHA's registered substances database

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) publishes information on chemical substances registered under REACH on its website. This information covers the intrinsic properties of each substance and their impact on our health and the environment. The data comes directly from companies who make or import the substances and have registered them with ECHA. The database also includes substances in nano form

Catalogue of nanomaterials used in cosmetics

The European Commission maintains a catalogue of all nanomaterials used in cosmetics placed on the EU market, based on information notified by industry through the Cosmetic Product Notification Portal (CPNP). The EUON has matched these substances with those registered under the REACH Regulation. You can browse the catalogue and access all the publicly available information collected from REACH registration dossiers. This includes information on the toxicological and ecotoxicological properties of the substances.
