Call for study proposals extended until 12 May
The European Union Observatory for Nanomaterials (EUON) is looking for topics that could be addressed in its upcoming studies.
If you have a proposal for a specific study topic that fills an information gap relevant to nanomaterials on the EU market, EUON may be able to carry it out.
Submit your proposal to nano-observatory[at]echa.europa.eu by 12 May 2023 and contribute to the work of the EUON.
The EUON is looking for study topics on:
- questions related to the health and safety aspects of nanomaterials, including hazard and risk assessment, exposure to nanomaterials or worker safety and protection;
- specific issues surrounding the uses of nanomaterials; or
- information about markets for nanomaterials (e.g. the market for specific materials such as graphene or specific market sectors).
The scope of the study can be on nanomaterials in general, a specific nanomaterial, or a defined group of nanomaterials. The EUON team will assess all proposals, and if selected, they will be carried out through EUON’s existing procurement channels. The outcome and study reports will be made available on the EUON website.
Please submit your proposal in .docx or .pdf format. Include a title, and a brief description (maximum 1 page) detailing the study topic and why a particular knowledge gap should be addressed. Even if you are unsure about the duration or scope of your proposal, you may still submit it to the EUON team who will be able to evaluate the feasibility of your proposal.
The EUON usually conducts two studies each year to address knowledge gaps on nanomaterials. Studies are based on desk research and surveys and should not require laboratory research.
Note: Receiving a proposal does not commit the EUON to carry out a study on the topic. If your topic is selected, the EUON may contact you for further information.
