NanoApp helps REACH registrants develop sets of similar nanoforms

Read our latest Nanopinion guest column from various authors from BASF and ECETOC, who talk about ways to assess the safety of nanomaterials while minimising animal testing. The NanoApp helps users to group similar nanoforms which can be of use for example when registering nanoforms via sets of similar nanoforms, or when doing read-across between nanoforms for particular information requirements.

"The NanoApp performs pairwise similarity checks and so is not limited to pre-defined categories. The rules applied by the app consider evidence on the impact of intrinsic and extrinsic properties on the exposure, toxicokinetics, fate, and (eco)toxicity, and eventual risks to the environment and to humans."
