Info sheet: manufactured nanomaterials in the workplace

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) has published an info sheet with an overview of how to deal with manufactured nanomaterials in the workplace.

The info sheet gives details of relevant EU legislation, explores the possible health impacts of nanomaterials, provides helpful advice for employers on how to prevent or minimise workers’ exposure to them, and describes the main exposure routes: inhalation, skin contact and ingestion.

The info sheet was published under the EU-OSHA’s Europe-wide healthy workplaces campaign to promote the prevention of risks posed by dangerous substances in the workplace. The campaign aims to reduce the presence of and exposure to dangerous substances in workplaces by raising awareness of the risks and of effective ways of preventing them.
